I was in hustle mode all afternoon to get this out to the fine fans of Amanda Palmer. I'm heading back to First Ave tonight to tape another show...

Many people are to be thanked for this recording's existence. Join me in thanking Katie, Mary, Sean and of course Amanda for starters. A huge thanks also goes to First Avenue for permitting audio/video documentation when the artist's/band's policy allows. Having taped the Dresden Dolls 2006 stop at First Avenue this show went on my calendar as soon as I saw it booked. It was an amazing night of music and performance art. I'm also very happy with the recording. I do suggest that you crank it. There are some "quieter" songs and I didn't want to use compression on the recording. Beware of clinking beer bottles as they hit the bin. I ran the mics high in anticipation of this, there are a few but it in no way detracts from the tape.

Please support Amanda's (and the Dresden Dolls) official releases.

The opening sets: They were great to say the least. Unfortunately Zoe is incomplete. I was given the green light by Amanda's camp (thank you) to enter the venue pre-doors around 7:30 to set up. I got there at 7:40, talked with a staff member at the front door about permission to set up early. He went to check, came back, told me it was cool and to go in through the side door. I was immediately stopped, made brief mention of my situation and was told I "had to wait in line like everyone else." No problem, being happy to tape at all and not waiting to create problems for anyone I went back outside. I tape at First Ave a good bit and don't want to become known as that guy who thinks he deserves special privileges. I got in around 8:20 thinking I was good since the opener usually goes on around 9. Zoe went on at 8:30 and I spent the majority of her set setting up. Some songs were recorded. The Builders and the Butchers set is complete and it sounds great.

What's up Chip.

Thanks for this terrific recording! (and thanks, of course, to Amanda for allowing recording!)

Just a note: Disc2, Track5 is a lip-synch to "Umbrella" by Rihanna.
