Minutemen @ KPFK Studios Los Angeles 1985

This recording is being hosted as a free download via The Traders' Den. I had nothing to do with the recording, transferring or posting of the recording. I'm just sharing the link here. You'll want to be familiar with BitTorrent and FLAC if you're interested in checking this out.

"For the last of the Minutemen recordings…I bring you a pretty special one. This is an amazing FM broadcast, so if you have been wary of the Aud(x)’s I’ve been up’ing of late, ya may want to check this one out…

Recorded for the SPIN RADIO CONCERT for syndicated release to radio stations all over the country, what was eventually broadcast in syndication was an 11 song mish-mash of the actual set played. When it was first broadcast on KPFK-FM, however, the full 23 song set was aired! This broadcast also doesn’t have the ANNOYING DJ promotional chatter that was peppered throughout the SPIN broadcast…Just the Minutemen doing their thing…

Since my original recording cut off on “Green River”, I included the partial version as well as the full version from a promo LP of the SPIN show, (ya can hear the pop in the vinyl). The missing “The Red & The Black” was also included from that vinyl. I do have a master SPIN promo vinyl, but no access to a turntable right now, so I got them from Sir Demon Brown’s “CORNDOGS.ORG” site. Thanks to him fer that…The partial version of “Green River” doesn’t have the annoying DJ intro the SPIN show has, and it sounds better than the LP version, my reason fer leaving the partial version here…

A couple of minor dropouts cannot kill this one…NOTHING can kill this one, it is fucking ridiculous…One of the first minutemen recordings I ever got, and still a hallmark recording."
