Slapping Purses - "I Smell Milk" (03/11/11)

Facebook | Myspace

The new material needs to stay raw for the shows so this is only an excerpt. Private Dancer, Vampire Hands and The Bombay Sweets played as well. Thanks to Hell's Kitchen and the bands for allowing me to record. Find Slapping Purses and other must have releases at Totally Gross National Product.

This Weekend At Hell's Kitchen.

Mike Siddall has had Late Night bookings at Hell's Kitchen on lock down since January and he's not stopping anytime soon. If you want to play the HK Late Night series drop Mike an email. This is not the same Hell's Kitchen you saw a show at in 2010 or prior. The PA system was upgraded 4 or 5 months ago. It's now one of the best sounding venues in Minneapolis. There's also new Late Night happy hour food and beverage prices. The parking garage next door to the venue is only $5 after 9pm.

Happy Hour starts at 10pm with music at 10:30pm. All of these shows are 21+ with a $5 cover.

Monday 10/04: What To Do What To Do?

Tonight at The Triple Rock a party will be brought to you by King Khan and the Shrines. Be sure to get there early for St. Paul's own Private Dancer who go on at 8:30 sharp. Gentleman Jesse and His Men are also in for the festivities. Who would want to miss this?!

BUT since music is not until 8:30PM perhaps prior to that you would like to check out some of the Seachange/Gastro Non Grata Patio series Part 3. These are always great. This just in from Mr. Drehmel of Gastro Non Grata:

Seachage Restaurant Patio overlooking the Stone Arch Bridge, featuring Drew Peterson and Brad, followed by Jim and the French Vanilla
818 South 2nd St
Minneapolis, MN

$5 Entrance gets you a free PBR tallboy, $25 for Four Courses off the Grill or $7 per course

Drew Peterson and Brad will open the show around 6:30, Mr. French Vanilla will go on around 8.

Pretty Quiet Around Here Lately...

So there seems to be a constant stream of 50 or so people who check in even if I'm not posting much. I just wanted to say thank you for the interest. Now that the nice weather is here I've been trying not to sit locked away in my apartment. This of course leads to a reduction in the frequency of tapes being processed. I've recorded some shows in the passed couple weeks that haven't made it online yet so I need to go over some stuff. Perhaps I'll obtain permission to post a Dave King Trucking Company set from the Clown Lounge a couple of Mondays ago? Looking like a busy weekend though...

- I've been hired to record my first funeral this week.

- Friday night is sounding like a nice night to spend at The Cedar. Hawks & Oxen CD Release w/ Sleeping in the Aviary and The Sundowners. 7pm doors / 8pm music with a $5 admission in advance and $10.

- Saturday night WHY? play the Mainroom with Deerhoof and Southeast Engine. This is sure to be good medicine. I need some. 6pm doors $13/$15.

- Sunday night our friends Gastro Non Grata take over First Avenue & The 7th Street Entry with the Gastro Non Grata: Vagabond Vacation. Mainroom sets will feature; School of Rock, Birthday Suits, Unknown Prophets, Private Dancer and Pink Mink. The Entry will feature sets by; Moonstone, Fuck Knights, Rifflord and Guystorm.
