The van rolled into the median but luckily didn't roll into oncoming traffic. The van was totaled. We only had liability on the van and now we owe a lot of money. What we have here is the best Vampire Hands recording I've ever managed to capture. I think it might even beat out the 10/08/08 Mainroom tape. This show also features Colin's return to the band for the first time since the August '09 show at The Turf Club. I know I probably say this about every other band that ends up on the site but you should check out the official Vampire Hands releases. Some sexy vinyl out there.

The Blind Shake and Birthday Suits also shared the bill which made it a glorious Saturday triple threat Blowout kind of a night.

Out of everything that was recorded in 2009 this set from The Deaf is certainly in my personal top 10 favorites. With 90 some shows recorded and who knows how many bands there's a lot of competition to beat out. This is something I've been really excited to get out there, it's just taken me a little over a week to do so. I'm still working on the set list but new songs were played. Seawhores, The Deaf, In Defence and Gay Witch Abortion supported The Blind Shake. Thanks to The Deaf, Learning Curve Records and The Triple Rock for allowing this fine evening of music to be documented. Support local bands, labels & venues in 2010 and every year after that. So we've all been to shows to see certain bands while not knowing much if anything about the opener. It's not very often the opener blows me away but it's always nice when that happens. Dinosaur Jr. people certainly missed out. This was their first Minnesota show but you can catch Wereworm the next time they come to town. Besides the music what else do I admire about this band? None of them own cell phones. I'll buy a record from any band who doesn't own cell phones. Wereworm and STNNNG supported The Blind Shake.

Killdozer, The Urinals, Mannequin Men & The Blind Shake @ The Turf

Wow. To be completely honest I was aware of Killdozer & The Urinals but I never consistently listened to them and therefore never really "got into" them. I can't think of anywhere else I would have rather been around town last night. Mannequin Men (Chicago) & The Blind Shake (Minneapolis) both killed their time on stage as well. Whoever put this line up together knew what they were doing. Truly historical. Many people missed out but that's how it goes. Thanks to The Turf Club for hosting.

So far I have permission to post a couple two or three songs from each set but I want to confirm this. I'll try to circulate full sets if possible.
